Skills for Life

We are a Sea Scout Group based on Holt Island in St. Ives Cambridgeshire, and offer a program of traditional scouting and water-based activities to children aged between 6 – 18.

Welcome to 2nd St. Ives Sea Scout Group

The Group, established in 1957, now has the privilege of offering scouting to more than 100 children on a weekly basis; being delivered by our volunteer leadership team, many of whom were members of the group when they themselves were younger.

We regularly take to the water, sleep under canvas and hike through the hills. Every week boys and across four sections, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers take part in adventurous activities, learn skills for life and most importantly have a great time with 2nd St Ives.

As a Group our aim is to provide the opportunity for dreams and inspirations to become a reality by providing our young members with the experiences to make memories which will stay with them forever and in time, their own children; who we hope will be able to have similar experiences and opportunities as they themselves.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
